New readers, start here

Welcome. Come in. Make yourself comfortable. I think there’s room at the back…

I’m Lexel J. Green and this is my website. Feel free to have a look around. Get to know me. Check out the books to see if there’s anything you like. These are the things you need to know.

1. I write books
Who am I? I’m a fantasy author, a rookie in truth, but I’ve got several books under my belt now and I’m hopefully getting better with each one. (At this rate, book #10 is going to be a masterpiece!)

My first book, Once Called Magic, is the best example of what I’m about. It sits in the Sword & Sorcery and Epic Fantasy categories on Amazon, but there are several other things that have shaped it.

Fourteen years in the making, the novel brings together elements from all of the fantasy books I’ve loved over the years. There are Raymond Feist-style magic portals, Chris Wooding-esque steampunk, some Mark Lawrence playfulness and countless bushy Game of Thrones-style beards.

It’s part of the Oconic Gates series, which runs to three books and includes two spin-off novellas – The Oconic Prison and The Hero of Zegoma Beach.

Speaking of The Oconic Prison, did you know that you can read this rollicking prison break novella for FREE when you join the LEGION readers group?

The LEGION is the best way to follow me. Any announcements about new books, discounts or offers will go out to serving legionnaires first. There’s also the chance to join a team of Advance Readers and get involved with future novels.

Check it out here and see if it’s a good fit for you.

3. The blog
This is where we are now. The quirky bit of the site. Like one of those coffee shops that have bikes hanging on the wall, those retro filament lightbulbs dangling from the ceiling, carrot cake arrayed on a slab of Welsh slate. It’s the place for news and behind-the-scenes info. Maybe the odd book excerpt, progress report, cover reveal or short story.

4. Getting in touch
If you’d like to get in touch with me, I’d love to hear from you. The LEGION is the place to go, but you can also use the Contact form to ping me an email – I aim to reply to every message that I get. You can also follow me on Twitter or connect with me on Facebook.
